What does Ballettonet stand for?

Ballettonet (pronounced ‘bah-leh-toe-net’) is dedicated to those who appreciate expert craftsmanship, quality materials, affordable luxuries and supporting family-run businesses.

Can I get these brands anywhere else in Australia?

You will own Italian leather ballet flats made exclusively for Ballettonet and produced in limited numbers in Italy. Be confident knowing that your coveted ballet flats will enhance your fashion style wherever your feet will take you.

Which parts of Italy do you source your shoes from?

We searched across all of Italy to source our ballet flats. Interestingly, there are regions in Italy that specialise in producing this shoe style and these are the regions we have sourced our shoes from. They include the Marche, Naples, Lecce and Civitonova regions, all situated near the east coast and southern regions of Italy.

Can I request shoes/colours/styles/sizes if they don’t appear to be available?

Yes! Some styles can be ordered in by special request. Just contact us and we'll look into this for you.

How do I know I’m getting a quality product from you?

We take great care in our selection of expert shoemakers, and have visited Italy to ensure we have chosen only the best ballet flats. We have also visited the factories in which they have been made to make sure we’re happy that the quality assurance processes are in place. We have worked with the shoemakers to ensure that the ballet flats meet our quality requirements so you get the best value for your money.

What is the price range of your collection?

Our collections range between AUD$150 - AUD$460 for full priced items. All items displayed are in Australian dollars.

Our shoes are made by manufacturers who make shoes for some of the most coveted fashion houses in the world.  They are sourced directly from the manufacturer, which means we are able to pass the savings on to you.

Do you sell gift certificates?

Yes! The gift of being able to wear beautifully made and comfortable Italian ballet flats are a present any shoe lover will cherish. Buy a gift certificate today

How do I use my gift certificate?

You can enter your gift certificate code directly into your order at checkout. Simply enter the reference number into the box called "Redeem Gift Certificate” click "Go" and your gift certificate will be automatically credited against your order. If this doesn't work for any reason, just send us a message letting us know your voucher number, and we'll help fix it. 

Does my gift certificate expire?

Your gift certificate is valid for 12 months from the date printed on the gift certificate.

What happens if I don't use the entire gift certificate in one purchase, or if it's not enough to purchase the shoes I want?

If you don't use the full amount of the gift certificate in your first order, don't worry as the remaining credit will be added to your Ballettonet account and applied automatically to your next order!

If the total cost of your order is more than the value of your gift certificate, then you'll be directed to our payment page, where you will be able to pay the remainder of the cost.

What are the terms and conditions for coupons?

We offer discount codes at various times throughout the year. Here are the T&Cs for the current coupons:

Sign up to our newsletter offer: Excludes the Kerrie Hess capsule collection items. For international orders, the shipping fee will be added to the total after the discount is applied. This cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.


 

Sizing

 

What sizes do you offer?

Our shoes are made in European sizes 35-43 and are available in full sizes. We recommend going up to the nearest whole size if you take a half size. Some styles are also available in half sizes. View our general size guide for full details.


 

Shipping

 

How much is shipping within Australia?

Shipping is FREE for all orders! Express shipping is standard for all shoe purchases and regular shipping is offered for Save Your Sole products. We ship with Australia Post, TNT, Startrack and Couriers Please to almost all destinations within Australia. Please don’t forget that someone will need to sign for your exciting delivery!

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! However we do add a low delivery fee for orders shipping to the Asia Pacific region and to the rest of the world. Australia Post carries out all orders sent internationally. All shoes are currently shipped from Melbourne, Australia.


 

Returns & Exchanges

 

What if my shoes are not right?

At Ballettonet we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason we gladly accept exchange or return provided the ballet flats are not scratched or dirty. You may exchange or return your shoes within 28 days of the order date.

In the interests of quality, we ask that you try your shoes for fit and size on carpeted surfaces only until you are certain that you will be keeping them. We regret that we are unable to accept or exchange any returned items that are scratched or dirty.

Please also be aware that the designer shoebox and dust bag are considered part of the whole product and the same terms apply. For this reason please make sure that the shoebox is placed in protective packaging when returning the item. Thank you for understanding.

Customers are responsible for the shipping charges for any returns or refunds. We will ship the exchanges back to you free of charge once only. Customers are responsible for the shipping charges for any subsequent exchanges. We encourage you to send your returned parcel via registered post to ensure it reaches us safely. Ballettonet is not responsible for goods lost in transit.

We will provide you with a credit using your original method of payment. If the goods show signs of it being worn they cannot be returned.

How do I return my shoes?

All you need to do is contact us to let us know what's not right with your ballet flats. Once you complete the form, you'll receive confirmation on the next steps and information on how to return your ballet flats to us! Please view our Returns and Exchanges Policy for more details. 


 

Shoe Care

 

How do I care for my shoes?

We want your ballet flats to stay in top condition, so we provide a soft dust bag to help keep them safe. This is particularly important for light coloured materials, which are more delicate than other materials and can mark easily.

What do you recommend I clean my shoes with?

Ballettonet ballet flats are luxury items, made according to the finest traditions and handcrafted techniques.

We recommend the following actions to care for and to ensure the longevity of your Ballettonet flats:

  • On smooth leathers, kid or lambskin, regularly apply a nourishing cream and buff lightly with a cloth. Do not apply cream excessively, as the leather will not be able to breathe. Use a colourless cream on two-tone shoes to avoid staining
  • Clean patent leather using a sponge moistened with soapy water and dry using a soft, clean cloth. Avoid contact of light-coloured patent leather with darker materials, as this will cause colour migration
  • Kid or calfskin suede should be brushed gently with a sponge or special suede rubber, smoothing down all the fibres in the same direction. Any persistent stains can be removed with fine sandpaper
  • Lizard and python skins are very sensitive to humidity. To care for them, gently apply a very small amount of colourless cream, ensuring not to lift up the scales
  • Wet shoes should be gently dried with an absorbent non-fluffy cloth and not exposed to heat.

Why should I resole my shoe?

You should always resole your shoes, preferably before you wear them so that you can protect the delicate sole that most designer shoes are made with. When you apply a new protective sole to your shoes the shoes will last longer and you won’t have dirty soles or soles where the coloured lacquer/painted soles have worn away and you will also prolong the life of your shoes. 

New rubber soles also make the shoes easier to walk in as they provide rubber to grip the ground as you walk & the rubber soles give extra padding to support the thin soles that the shoes are made with.

Some people say you shouldn't resole your shoe as it affects the structure of the shoe?

All of our soles are made of rubber between 1.0mm and 1.8mm thick. When the sole is applied to the shoe you cannot see the sole from the side of the shoe as the sole is so thin. Also with such thin rubber it will not affect the structure or balance of the shoe which is a main feature of the shoe when the shoe is being constructed and made. 

Do the colours of the rubber soles match?

Yes. All of our coloured soles are made to match the different coloured soles of designer shoes. The colours on our site are as close to the colour of the original designer shoe sole as possible. Please look at our pictures to see if the colour will match your shoe soles. 

The red soles are a perfect colour match for Christian Louboutin & Cesare Paciotti red soles. There are some soles on the market which do not match perfectly and are more orange than red. Please see our photos to show the match of the red sole to the Louboutin sole.

How do I put the the rubber soles on my shoe?

You need to take the soles to a professional cobbler to have them professionally adhered to your shoes. They use special repair machines and instruments to ensure that they are properly fitted to your shoes. Please don’t try to put these on yourself – well you can but they probably won’t stay on for long and won’t look very good.

How do I apply the Sole Stickers?

It's easy! Make sure the shoe sole is clean before you apply the sole sticker. Each pair comes as a rectangle you can cut to the size you need. Please cut to size first and then stick to the surface you need to protect. Make sure the surface is completely dry before applying. Once you have finished with the sole you can peel it straight off. NOTE: If your shoes have a delicate sole or are enamel painted please make sure that you do a patch test to ensure that the paint or leather will not come off when you remove the Sole Sticker. 

What are the benefits of your Sole Sticker?

Our Sole Sticker is the only product on the market designed to provide immediate protection to all shoe soles. The soles are sold in a rectangle shape so that you can trace the shape of the shoe onto the sole, cut the sole into the required shape, peel the backing off and apply to the shoe. And when are you are finished you can peel the sole and throw it away. The soles will withstand dirt, mud and oil. And are made in the USA.

As a stylist, I spend alot of time applying masking tape to shoes. Is your Sole Sticker a replacement for this process?

Absolutely. Our Sole Sticker has been made as the perfect solution to replace the industry process of applying masking tape to shoe soles for photo shoots, fashion shows and sample shoes. The clear sole is easy to apply, cut to shoe sole shape, will withstand mud, dirt and oil and you can stick on and peel off. Just make sure you test a small part of the sole prior to application as the material of each shoe sole is different. 

Can your Sole Sticker be used for fashion shows and fashions shoots by wardrobe managers & dressers?

Yes! These Sole Stickers by Save Your Sole was created for one of our favourite shoe designers to provide an easy solution to protecting shoe soles for samples and fashion shows and to replace the industry process of applying masking tape to shoe soles. It is easy to apply, stick on and peel off and an instant grip provider to all shoe soles.
